Amid India’s Got Latent controversy, Priyanka Chopra’s old interview with Ranveer Allahbadia resurfaces; actress schools YouTuber on fame & family- Watch

YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, is facing backlash after making inappropriate remarks as a guest judge on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. The controversy has brought renewed attention to a past interview Ranveer Allahbadia conducted with Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Allahbadia’s appearance on India’s Got Latent, alongside fellow YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija, and comedian Jaspreet Singh, quickly turned sour due to his comments. One particularly offensive segment involved a contestant being asked an extremely inappropriate “would you rather” question regarding their parents.

In the video, Allahbadia asks, “Do you still go for family functions and all that? Can you? Because of the same fame angle.” He then adds, “You’ve reached like this (spreads out his arms) level of fame, I can’t imagine you…” Chopra, visibly confused, interrupted to clarify. Before Allahbadia could elaborate, Chopra firmly stated, “So? You’re saying I’m not going to dance on the baraat of my brother’s wedding?” When Allahbadia hesitantly responded “Maybe,” Chopra shut him down, saying “Maybe nahi bhai! Of course. My cousins, my brothers… Family is most important to me. My fame is a byproduct of my job, it does not define me. My fame is not my job. It’s very clear to me. I’m not famous for a living, I work for a living and fame comes with it. So, it’s not something I can control. That’s something that’s thrust upon me.”

Amidst the fallout, a clip from Allahbadia’s 2022 interview with Priyanka Chopra on The Ranveer Show is gaining traction. In the original interview, Chopra discussed self-confidence, entrepreneurship, and success. However, the resurfaced clip highlights Chopra’s perspective on the importance of family, in response to Allahbadia’s questions about her ability to maintain family connections given her level of fame.

The resurfaced clip gains added significance considering Chopra, her husband Nick Jonas, and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas recently attended her brother Siddharth Chopra’s wedding to Neelam Upadhyaya in India. True to her word, Chopra was seen joyfully dancing at the baraat, Mehendi, and Sangeet ceremonies. The clip serves as a reminder of Chopra’s values and commitment to family amidst her global fame.
